2018 Grant Programs

Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC)

NCC is a member of the RDFC and is given $2,000 to distribute.  The RDFC is a non-profit corporation owned by North Dakota’s electric and telecommunications cooperatives. RDFC’s mission is to promote rural economic development, primarily focusing on creating new jobs and enhancing essential community services and facilities by providing affordable financing.

Eligible projects:

Community owned businesses (café, grocery store, motel, other); community facilities (such as ambulance services, fire districts, recreation, hospital/clinic, community center, etc.); or community-based projects (such as school/youth projects, other) that benefit rural areas.

Matching funds:

Awardee is required to match $4 dollars of funds to every $1 of RDFC funds.

CoBank “Sharing Success”

NCC partnering with CoBank to provide a grant of up to $10,000.  CoBank is a national cooperative bank serving vital industries across rural America.

Eligible entities:

501 (c)(3) charity, school or government organization such as counties or municipalities and their agencies or departments.

Deadline to submit application to NCC:

August 1, 2018

Sharing Success grant application

Foundation for Rural Service (FRS)

Grants range from $250 to $5,000 and support organizations and projects that fit into the following categories: business and economic development, community development, education and telecommunications.  The application needs to be postmarked by September 15, 2018 along with a letter of support from NCC.  Completed application can be mailed to NCC and we can send in with the letter of support, or ask for the letter of support from us and mail everything together yourselves. Grants are awarded December 1, 2018 and funds distributed December 31, 2018.
